Last day of the month.

Came earlier to find pegs for my lesson..

And i did documentation for dramatic corner..

So proud of myself :)

Had lots of plans to complete during children's nap time.

Mark schnet, print feb attendance list frm schnet, do parental involvment letter and print it out and give it to parents, look through wap for wk 7&8.

On top of tt, ms rai jus had to add on to my wrkload at this point in time :(

She get me and hajar to change biege paper for the parents corner!

Gosh.

I rush and rush.

Glad i did what intended to.

Except for changing biege paper for parents corner.... Nt enough time :(

Only done two, left with one.

Guess we will do tt tmr then.

Zachary last day today :(

His mum was sooooo sweet to buy chocolate cake for high tea..

His mum thank me for everything frm cny fan to paper bag puppet to bdae balloon to everything tt tcr had done for child :)

Sooooo glad tt at least i had impact on him, though its jus one month.

Glad tt i made te effort to call cayla mum to ask if she can eat chocolate cake or not. She appreciate tt n thk me while sending off cayla :)

She Did not have backing for photos.

When i asked, she still got the cheek to say "need backing one ah?"

I answered back "yes. See? My documentation photos all have backing too"

Then she contradict herself by reply "oh ya, i forget".

Hmmmm.

So is it she is nt sure nd backing paper? Or she knws bt forget?

She always have so many excuses!!

And she printed photos for dramatic corner.

BUT LOOK WHEN IT IS BEING ZOOMED AT!

doesnt she know how to cut properly?

especially when it's for display and people (board of director, principals, teachers, parents, children) will get to see it!

I was quite dumb.

I removed the cny fan documentation and display.

Wanted to replace it with paper bag display.

Then i realise, there are toooooooo much paper bag display, so i put back the cny fan display.

Kind of waste of time..

But well, learn frm it so i wldnt make same mistake in future :)

Anddddd.

I laminated black paper to act as border for photos.

Cuz by laminating it, it will be more durable.

I am so upset with komathi today.

She did not take temperature for children while i shower them :(

When she did showering, i wld take the children temperature. Now when i do showering, why cant she do the same(take children temperature). Sighhhhh. She said she was busy putting the mattress cover. I uds tt point as i had been thru it when she do showering. Bt since i can manage, why cant she?

The same thing happen when i did diapering after nap.

She did not take childen temperature, instead she was putting up her home science documentation..

I was sooooo mad tt i asked her "why cant u put the documentation in te aftnn during chn nap time?"

She replied "i was busy doing wap for this week".

I really wonder why she come into this industry.

What's new abt komathi? Haissss

Today, i expose my group of children to the new discovery toys.

They knw the rules as well;

-only 5 chn allowed at this corner

Was glad tt i was able to capture their attention for about half an hr to forty-five minutes, jus introducing them to the discovery corner :)

During brk time, i went out of centre.

My first time of the year to go out dyring brk.

Heeeee.

Went out to buy ingredients for home science activity.

Tahirah went out with me tooooo ;)

Chatted a lot! All abt komathi. Sigh. Really wonder when will she wake up her ideas...

anyway, bought bubble tea. I m a happyyyyyyyy gal.

I manage to update parents signing in n out book as well. So glad :)

Oh yes,

I was supposed to do home science documentation.

And komathi was supposed to bring thumdrive today, so tt i can pass her paper bag photos for her documentation.

End up, she still forget to bring thumdrive despite me txting her last nite to remind her :(

So....

I m doing paper bag documentation instead! N she will be in charge of home science documentation....

Home science activity was not bad :):)

Supposed to be observing the centre, that's the main reason the enculturation program send us back to centre.

But apparently when I am back in centre, i will take charge of my class.

Hmmmm.

This morning, I had a talk with Ms Rai.

She was talking about the occasions to celebrate.

It is not sufficient to just provide the occasions and date.

Wee should discuss as a team the things we wanted out of the occasion.

For example: todd draw mother on mother's day, everyone in centre to have lunch with father on father's day, go Jamiya home visit on children;s day.

Need more planning.

And Ms Rai was asking about field trips.

We were lack of that in the planning calander.

She gave some suggestions such as indoor visit of sensory experience at the science centre.

And i noted that it will be due on 25th Feb.

Gosh, am i supposed to plan this?

another point Ms Rai mention is our learning corners.

There are more to be improved,

However, she said we can relook at at after CNY1

This afternoon, I called Uwizz parents to ask about his situation as he havnt been coming to school for the past 4 days.

I hope this do build relationship.

Talking to Xin Rong and Joe parents regarding their children settling in school were initially stress.

After which, it's more casual.

I felt good to have made the call, as it's teacher's responsibility to settle the new children.

Regarding the mixed up of underwear of Joe and Isaac,

I had asked for the description of Joe underwear.

After which, I personally called Isaac mum to inform her about it.

Hope the underwear could be found and returned to Joe.

Hope this case close soon.

And Ohnooooooooo.

Before Nap, I spotted red spots on the upper roof of Rayden's mouth.

After nap, when we checked, there were two red spots.

We had seperated him from his classmates.

Besides, I had contacted his mum regarding this matter.

I hope it is not HFMD.

I hope Rayden recover sooooooooooon.

Stayed back a little after 4.30pm to do my observation report for my enculturation program.

Gosh, it is 12pages looooooooooong.

On top of that, i need to do a poster on 3 things that i had learnt from this encu;turation prgram.

She only realise it this morning that there is Art and Craft.

So she got Hajar to buy.

Ahhhhh!

I already bought!

Sickening.

Perhaps it is my fault for not communicating with her that I got the paper bag too.

sigh,

Now one packet of paper bag will be wasted as only one packet can be claimed!

Anyway, second half of the day when I am back in centre, things were pretty much settled.

Wu Lao Shi came over for lesson.

She took Komathi's group, and i am left with my group(:

Sang some songs, introduce to them the board with their fish crafts and let them drink water.

Be apologatic.

Had enculturation today,

And i called Komathi today when I am having lunch.

wanted to check if she gave Jin Cheng bdae goodie bags (as i tasked her to).

As expected, she had not.

Sighhhh..

Talked to Komathi once again after my course.

Glad that goodie bags were given out.

When asked about attendance, Sigh, not done.

Reason: Can't log in into sch net.

Okay, reason accepted.

Soft board, songs and rhymes were up, great job(:

She say she will get it done tomorrow.

She told me that Joe brought home an extra underwear that doesn't belong to him and mum returned it today.

He brought home an extra set of clothes.

But Komathi couldn't figure out who does it belongs to.

She asked if I know.

Of course I don't.

Cause i m on course on Firday and I wasn't present to do showering and diapering.

She just wanted to "push" the blame to me as I was in charge of showering and diapering the whole of last week.

went back to centre though it's not my working saturday.

I just wana complete displaying my children work as i wouldn't come centre next week since i am on enculturation.

Very productive today.

Decorate my board with CNY fish craft.

Used a corrugated board and shelf for displaying CNY fan craft.

Thanks to Fadilah for helping me put biege paper on the black corrugated board.

Even trainee teacher hlped me.

Sigh,
I wonder what my partner main teacher is doing!

and i hang the lantern i bought and the CNY lantern craft that the children did.

I also put up the CNY orange craft. heeeeeeee.

Thanks to Fadilah and Waheedadh who helped me hang it up as i had to rush off for dental appointment.

worked from 7.30am till 11am.

Glad these 3.5 hours are not wasted.

And Liu Lao Shi gave me feedback about CNY fish craft.

Instead of using red paper to decorate the fish, i could have sued red packet.

And the bubbles, could have used liquid paper instead of drawing it.

curriculum briefing for first half of the day.

Today for first half of the day, I went for PG Term 1 Curriculum Training.

Talked about MFS Skool Educare approaches and curriculum.

Went back to the centre for next half of the day.

I went to Nursery bay first since i reached earlier than my working time.

Oscar remembered me. He called me "Tcr Huimin" and gave me a hug.

things were pretty much settled at my bay too.

As i was away for a while, Hajar took my laptop up.

Komathi on course in the afternnon, so she is only in centre till 12pm.

gosh.

Initially, i foresee a busy shagged dayyyyyyyyyyyy.

But afterall, it's not that bad (:

first half of the day, when Komathi is still in centre, things were still managable.

I managed to fold fans with my group(:

Then i get them to play at discovery corner quietly(:

And OMG!

I saw Komathi using her handphone while she get children to do drawing!

N goshhh. Sherman drew on the cupboard, she was sooooooooo mad aft tt.

this kind of thing could have been avoided if she had take notice in the first place.

Sighhhh.

It would be a teachable moment for the children who drew it too.

But sigh, i wasn't paying attention to her group,

Hence, the teachable moment was lost.

What's more.

She should be paying attention to her group and not use handphone when children are around!

After which, it gets a little tense as we rush the children through shower and lunch.

And ooooooooops, i forget to take temperature of children.

Nap time was alright.

I was busy collating the number of children joining the enrichment class,

And i helped Wu Lao Shi claim her OT hours,

and i managed to browse through the curriculum for next week.

Still, there is not enouugh time to read through all the curriculum files to note the field trip dates.

Hence, i had not draft out my calander planner :(

Lucky wang Lao Shi and Hajar did helped me look out while they take care of toodlers.

I felt upset when Heiirishaa and Julian did not have the fan as I distributed it to the children while they fan their fan while watching video.

So i did marble painting with Heiirishaa and Julian.

While i placed 9 children near a table to watch video

Glad that they are all engaged and did not run around.

Amazing.

(except for Baihaqi who sat at a corner to do puzzle).

Cuz a few days agao, we wrote in comm book that we wld appreciate if Uwizz come in at 9am cuz we will start our lessons then.

Their reply were "will talk to ur principal about it"

Thus, we inform Ms Rai about it to prevent misunderstanding.

Ms Rai told us off; we shouldn't write such message in comm book.

We should jus verbally inform parents.

Besides, we should understand situation first before we write such message;

Uwizz stayed in Punggol, hence have difficulty coming centre on time at 9am.

especially when dad is working shift work and mum is working at 10am.

today, we stick to our own group.

With MingXuan, Julian, Rayden, Zu Yao, Baihaqi, Isaac, Shermaine, Heiirishaa,

We managed to form our group name: Rainbow group.

I took 5 for craft work (pasting eyes on fish) while i left the other 3 to play puzzles.

Still managable.

she said i said there were only 18 children in our bay, BUT i did not!!

Clarify with her during lunch break(: hehehehe.

Ms Rai said tt it's dangerous to let the children sit on chairs outside toilet while waiting for their turn to shower as children might lose balance and fall off.

Hence, she said we should get the children to sit on chairs around table and allow them to play manipulative while waiting for their turn to shower.

We should improvise her plan accordingly tomorrow!

Imbalanced.

A day whereby i felt lost.

I manage to get the children to complete the fish.

I cut their orange paper plate and allow them to paste it using red rectangles paper.

I decided to split job with Komathi as I cant be the only one doing work.

I get her to do marble painting for the fan with her group as I am done with my group.

And guess what?

She took 2 children, Wu Lao Shi took 2 children.

And i am left with 14 children at the dramatic corner.

Oh noooooooooooooo!

I manage the children well initially when i only have 8.

And i manage to take photos of them playing at the dramatic corner (which is needed for documentation)

Anyway, i felt bad.

I did not help Komathi clean up the paint and the aprons.

But to think about it, why should i?

It's her who used the things.
She should pack up after use what!!!

Today, I started the food schedule system.

Hope it will turn out to be fineeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Quite productive today, i would say.

I manage to get all the children that is present to paint their fish orange.

And around 6-7 children did marble painting for the fan.

Quite happy with it already.

And i marked attendance on schnet.

Today is the best day of the week.

Perhaps because it's Friday and Weekends are near!

Anyway, today is a happyyyyyyyyyyy day.

I felt more calm and in control of my children.

Especially during transition (between diapering and tea time) when i get them to sit on chair when i entertain them with songs.

Amazingly, most of them sat down and sang along with me.

What a great sense of achievement(:

Actually, i am not productive today.

Did not manage to get my children to do crafts for CNY!

As Fadilah is not here to help me today, there's only me and Komathi in class.

I don't want to leave her with such a big class while i get 2-3 children to do crafts.

Still, it is a happy day as i manage to put up my bdae chart(:

They are all attentive when i talk to them about their bdae balloons(:

Besides, I manage to introduce to them the CNY songs.

Now they can say chinese sayings like "Gong Xi Gong Xi", "Xin Nian Kuai Le".

There's staff meeting this afternoon.
Initially it's to send one representative from each class to go to the other bay.

And Komathi volunteered herself!!

Ohmygoodnessssss.

She is only good at volunteering things that can get her ass out of the bay (Yesterday she also volunteer to bring Isaac bdae cake to the other bay to distribute it to other teachers)

Anyway, the meeting was held at our bay.

Soooooooo many procedures to take note.

Changes here and there; in schedule, outdoor play, planning time.

I seriously don't know how many times she need to use the toilet a day!

and she can stand around talking to Hirah for loooooooooooooooooooooong time instead of looking after children!!!

Gosh.

I can't believe she is taking leadership course!

Hirah's dad told her something very meaningful.

And she shared those words with me(:

mid-week!

I am so glad that Fadilah is here to help my class(:

Only 14 children todayyyyyy.

And i am feeling that they are out of my control!

I can't imagine when i have full attendance of 19 children!!

I get the children to do painting for CNY decoration.

Proud that I manage to get 10 of them to paint within half an hour.

But i felt guilty for leaving the rest of the children to Fadilah and Komathi.

Anyway, I introduce to the children the bowls, cups and plates in the dramatic corner.

I also taught them how to keep it using the shadows (:

YAY! so happy to see them pack up after they played at the dramatic corner.

Cayla's mum approach me and asked if i fed Cayla medicine before high tea.

I was lost.

I don't know there's medicine to be fed as it was not written on the daily schedule (that i had implemented).

I had overlooked it.

Felt really really really bad.

Sigh.

Why didn't Komathi write it down?

and i should STOP pushing the blame on others!

I should have checked the medical box!!

I should be more aware of these stuff in future.

first wrking day of Yr 2012

It's a tiring day.

But at least i felt that I did a great job in settling the children in the morning.

(singing the good morning song, hello song, there are 7-days songs, weather song, silvery fish song, all the fishes swimming in the water song)

Introducing them to one another seem like a good idea as I captured most of their attention as I showed them the board.

Giving them new cubby hole seems to be interesting to them.

At least all of them felt belonged(:

Ms Rai said we should lower down our volume
as having no voice will become a word hazard for us.

I am still working on that!

I am trying hard to meet the minimum requirement!!

I am going home to do shadow of the items in the dramatic corner.

This is so that the children would know how to keep the items(:

It seems like an easy task,

BUT it require a lot of steps; drawing, cutting, laminating and cutting again!
